On August 17th, Cindy Rozeboom of East End Arts (a Local Arts Service Organization (LASO) created to serve the east end of Toronto) held a community consultation meeting at Cosburn United Church. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and receive feedback from local community members involved in the arts. As CATS’ representatives we were very pleased to meet other artists (writers, musicians, singers, choral members, playrights and visual artists). The meeting went well with everyone contributing to the discussion and providing input through their own unique perspective regarding the topics and issues relevant to the arts in our community. The general consensus was that having an organization likes East End Arts (EEA) is essential to promoting arts and artists in the East End. We hope to collaborate with the EEA and individual/groups of artists in the future.

Since CATS is a relatively new community outreach program, the team has decided to throw a getting to know CATS/ Fundraiser event on June 1st. We’re hoping to drum up some interest and funds to help us develop our art programs! Click on this link FundraiserFlyer for more info on the fundraiser 🙂
